Taubman Centers and New Century Development Corp., through the DCK / Bird JV, contracted LORD to perform the main electrical distrubution work of the Mall of San Juan. The Mall of San Juan project was a $400 million retail project that introduced an upscale, state of the art shopping center near the Puerto Rico Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. The 650,000-square-foot shopping center features the first Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue on the island, in addition to more than 100 specialty stores and restaurants.

LORD's scope of work included: The furnishing and installation of the building's GIS equipment and subsequent commissioning, all Electrical Underground duct banks and raceways including it's wiring, the Mall's complete main Electrical Distribution, Deck Electrical Distribution, Telecommunication System Raceways and Lightning Protection Systems. The GIS is 38kV and manufactured by ABB

LORD provided sufficient, qualified, trained and skilled personnel, registered and experienced professional electrical engineer supervision, all necessary construction equipment, infrared survey, NETA and PREPA required testing services, certified test reports, protective equipment, PPE, support, and construction meeting assistance to comply with SOW requirements.
